Heya <<First Name>>,
As far as we know, it’s the first love story to feature ugly unicorns, unfortunate underbites, and unforgettable underwear.
Our new book is called “I Love U,” and it began on a run around Seattle’s Greenlake park a couple years ago when the phrase “I love you” popped into my head. Except that the “you” was a “U.”
Silly, right?
Then I thought: “I love ugly unicorns.”
Hmm. That seemed even sillier. But … funny.
U’s everywhere!
By the time I got home, words were spilling out of my brain.
I started writing. When I finished writing, I grabbed a dictionary and started reading (U is a great chapter).
Then I wrote some more.
“Unforgettable” … “useless” … “unique” … “udders” … “uniforms” … “UFOs” …
Fast forward two years — and one serendipitous encounter with illustrator Kyle Krauskopf — and here you have it, just in time for Valentine’s Day: Our new book, “I Love U.”
Buy a copy now.
Or, better yet, read it for free. Just print out the PDF and share the love of underwater undertakers and unnecessary upholstery with the kids in your life.
U will be glad you did.
(Groan.)
Oh, one last thing. There are a lot of U words I didn’t include (“URLs,” “ultramarathoners,” “Uzbekistan,” etc.), so I’d love to know if you come up with any new ones.
Happy reading!
Jeff, Bob, and Zoe … … who believe that reading with kids can change the world for the better
PS. If you’re in Seattle, you can say “hi” to Kyle at the Atlantis Artist Collective in Pike Place Market. |
