Heya <<First Name>>,

A clarification. A picture. And a list.

1. A clarification

A reader wrote me last week and said “Iā€™m trying to figure out your company. Do you offer read aloud books for kids?”

Feeling rather ridiculous, I laughed at myself and thought …

“Jeff, you really need to explain yourself better.”

The answer is yes!

While we do sell our books, you can read digital versions of the stories for free. Here’s how …

  1. Go to our site.
  2. Click the “Stories” drop-down menu.
  3. Pick a story.
  4. Download the PDF.

Here’s a screenshot:

If you like the story, you can buy it. That helps us make more of them. šŸ™‚

2. A picture

Our book “Jack Jenk Shouts Love” is being illustrated now and will come out later in the year.

Here’s a peek at the first illustration.

3. A list

I posted this on our Facebook community page, but in case you missed it, it’s a great reminder of some of the billion or so good things that happen when you read to kids.

Happy reading.

Jeff, Bob, and Zoe …
… who believe that reading with kids can change the world for the better

Our latest read-aloud continues …

The past few weeks, we’ve been telling the story “Scar and the Wolf,” complete with new illustrations.

“Scar” is an early-grade chapter book, and it’s basically “Red Riding Hood” as a lovable zombie girl.

This week, Scarlet picks up a stray in the street, meets the weird, bear-loving girl from her class, and has her first meeting with one of the story’s two villains, her classmate Jeminy Stinkpit.

Everyone has a Jeminy Stinkpit. That one zombie who seems to have been unearthed for the singular purpose of making your undeath as miserable as possible. The one who pushes your buttons ā€” the buttons labeled “You’re not smart” and “You’re not talented” and “You’re not enough.”
