Heya <<First Name>>,
Wondering what to read next with your kiddo? Here are too many suggestions. (Sorry, I can’t help myself.)
“The best children’s and YA books of 2021” (The Guardian).
2021’s best middle grade and picture books (Kirkus Reviews).
One from Kirkus. A great list of books for girls (from Rise).
A Powell’s selection of books that have been banned (or may still be banned somewhere, for all I know).
 Once banned.
Dana Gaskin Wenig’s lists (prepared especially for 320 Sycamore Studios) include her 25 favorite picture books AND …
 Dana likes Garfield.
And one from me.
I read “The House in the Cerulean Sea” last month. It’s a YA novel about a schlumpy government inspector who finds his bravery at a remote island orphanage full of the most diverse group of magical creatures this side of Hogwarts.
 Heart-wrenching and wonderful.
After reading it, I was reminded of a quote by illustrator Chris Riddell:
“A good book is an empathy machine.”
Happy reading,
Jeff and Bob …
… who believe that reading with kids can change the world for the better.
