Heya <<First Name>>,
Our unofficial mascot, a quokka, arrived in Seattle from South Africa just in time for a snowstorm.
Here are some pictures …
Quokkas are normally from Australia, but this one came from our friend Dana Biddle, who runs a yarn shop in Johannesburg called ColourSpun.
Dana is creating several crochet kits based on animals from our book “Ooh Odd Zoo.”
The only problem is that our Quokka doesn’t have a name!
Would you (or your kids) mind suggesting one?
Just reply to this email. If we choose the name, we’ll send you a free copy of “Ooh Odd Zoo” (or any one of our other books).
A new story for you
We have a new read-aloud story to share with you starting this week.
It’s called “Jack Jenk Shouts Love,” and it’s about a boy who’s good at football and not a lot else. Or so he thinks, until the night he watches the news, sees a problem he can’t ignore, and gets a crazy idea about how he can maybe change a few people’s minds. Or the whole country’s.
Read chapter 1.
If you’d like to see how the story ends, just let me know and I’ll email the complete PDF to you.
Happy reading!
Jeff, Bob, and Zoe … … who believe that reading with kids can change the world for the better
